On 30 October Ryder signed the Armed Forces Covenant - a corporate pledge to support the armed forces community through employment, campaign awareness and skill development
The practice's pledge includes seeking to support the employment of veterans young and old by recognising transferable skills and investing in professional development - for example, those relating to design, project management, leadership, teamwork and communication and identifying opportunities for the employment of service spouses and partners, endeavouring to offer a degree of flexibility in granting leave before, during and after a partner's deployment.
David Stabler, project manager at Ryder and ex armed forces said, "From my earliest engagement with Ryder, there was a clear emphasis on making a difference, individually and collectively. Ryder seeks to be pioneering and collaborative with a passion for developing talent and like the army, it has a strong sense of values, common purpose and team. The signing of the corporate covenant formally recognises these aspects in addition to the benefits the Armed Forces community can bring to the business."
