The HQ designed by Ryder Architecture will house over 1,000 staff at its Liverpool base
The new Merseyside Police Headquarters, designed by Ryder, is a key project within the Merseyside Police Estate Strategy Programme. The proposal brings together the force’s corporate and specialist departments into one facility to maximise operational efficiency, improve collaboration between departments and transform the working practices of the force.
Richard Wise, partner at Ryder said, “This building builds upon a successful working relationship Ryder has with Merseyside Police and Wilmott Dixon. When complete the new headquarters will provide modern, efficient facilities which will make a very positive impact upon the area, as well as support the police authority’s ambitions to make significant savings in their estate management costs maximising their budget on policing.”
The site is located north of Liverpool city centre where the development will be distributed between two buildings, a four storey office and a two storey annex building. The development is designed to accommodate in the region of 1,200 staff across 12,800sqm of accommodation. It includes large, flexible open plan office spaces that respond to modern methods of working and can respond quickly to operational changes, providing a range of workplace settings, shared facilities and high quality amenity spaces.
The development is programmed to commence on site in the summer of 2018.
