Jonathan undertook his first degree at Northumbria University, and following a successful two years out at Ryder was awarded the Ryder Bursary in 2005 before completing his architectural education at Newcastle University. Jonathan has significant experience across education, research and office sectors, and has been instrumental in growing Ryder’s police portfolio in the UK and Hong Kong. He has a key role in developing the practice’s international portfolio through Ryder Alliance and frequently spends time with the team in Hong Kong and Alliance partners around the world.

Jonathan regularly tutors third year architecture students at Northumbria University and leads our work as a partner of Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art. In 2013 Jonathan completed the Common Purpose Meriden senior leadership programme and continues to engage with the course alumni, as well as speaking on their behalf on the Common Purpose Frontrunner course. In 2018 Jonathan was a panel member for the RIBA awards. Outside of work, he enjoys travel, time with his family and is a keen sports fan.
