Ryder Architecture‘s regional charity event returned for its seventh year, raising a total of £12,000 for Newcastle United Foundation.
The biennial event, sponsored by Buro Happold, CAA ICON and KSS Design Group, took place on 23 October at Tyne Bank Brewery. Guests enjoyed an evening filled with traditional German food and drink, live music by local band, Groovetrain, and even managed to snap their photos with the Carabao Cup.
Thanks to continued support from north east businesses and our sponsors, several prizes were donated into a silent auction and raffle, including a two night stay package at Close House, a ball assistant opportunity for a Newcastle United match, and an overnight stay at Alnwick’s 5* Bailiffgate Hotel.
Jonathan Seebacher, principal at Ryder, said: “We’re delighted with the result from our seventh event. The money raised is testament to the built environment community and business network and we’re very proud to play our part.”
All proceeds from tickets and fundraising on the evening go directly to Newcastle United Foundation’s Disability Football programmes, specifically their Down’s Syndrome football activity. Since it was first held in 2013 at Cooper’s Studios, the event has raised over £60,000 for various charities.
Commenting on the night, Tom Newby, director at Buro Happold, said: “It is fantastic to have been able to be part of such a successful event alongside our close friends and collaborators in the north east. We’re thrilled that it has raised so much to support the Newcastle Foundation Foundation’s brilliant work.”
Andrew Jackson, vice president at CAA ICON, added: “CAA ICON is proud to support Newcastle United Foundation in their bid to use the power of football to connect, motivate and inspire people. It has been a privilege to be a small part of a fantastic evening for such a worthy cause.”
Lee Nightingale, director at KSS, concluded it was a: “A great evening in support of Newcastle United Foundation” and: “A real honour to attend and to have the ability to assist in raising funds with our colleagues.”
