Oktoberfest 2017 Launch

Ryder Architecture, Muckle LLP and Brewin Dolphin have joined forces to help raise vital funds for Doddie Weir‘5 and The Newcastle United Foundation

The event will see all proceeds from tickets and fundraising on the evening go directly to the two charities.  The Doddie’5 Trust, was set up by international rugby star Doddie Weir following his recent diagnosis, to raise funds for research into a cure for Motor Neurone Disease.

The Newcastle United Foundation, who have improved the lives of almost 50,000 people in the local community across their football, school and community programmes, announced exciting plans earlier in the year to create a new purpose built community centre, designed by Ryder, on the existing site at Murray House.

Jonny Seebacher, architectural director at Ryder said, “This is Ryder’s fourth annual Oktoberfest and we’re incredibly pleased to have the support of Muckle and Brewin Dolphin this year.  As a business, we are very supportive of the work both charities achieve and we hope to raise awareness and funds to help them continue making an impact.”

Steve McNicol, Client and Strategic Development Partner at Muckle LLP said, “We are delighted to once again team up with Ryder and support this special fund raising event – I’m sure it will be a brilliant night.  Fingers crossed we manage to raise many thousands of pounds for these very worthwhile causes, both of which are very close to the hearts of the north east and local community.”

James Cartmell, Divisional Director at Brewin Dolphin welcomed the opportunity to support the event.  He said, “We’ve always supported local charities, sport and culture.  This is superb event in the regional calendar and goes from strength to strength each year.  Having played rugby with Doddie many moons ago, it’s great that his is one of the chosen charities, and we’re looking forward to helping raise thousands for the fund and to help continue the excellent work done by the Newcastle United Foundation.  Really looking forward to the event.”

Olympic gold medallist Jonathan Edwards CBE, patron of the Newcastle United Foundation said, “This is a fantastic gesture by both businesses.  I am personally thrilled they have chosen to support research into Motor Neurone Disease through the Doddie Weir‘5 Trust along with helping to raise funds for our Foundation for the work we are doing to support sports development in the community and schools across the north east.”

The event organisers are aiming to build on last years’ success which raised £7000 for local charities and welcomed over 550 professionals from the north east business community.  Guests will be able to enjoy traditional customary German food, drink and entertainment.  Tickets are available to purchase online through Eventbrite.
