Adam James

Principal, Architect AIBC RIBA

Since establishing Ryder in Vancouver in 2017, Adam has led the expansion of the team, which includes architects, designers, technologists, and support staff. As a passionate Passive House designer and advocate, Adam has delivered several certified and high performance buildings for a range of sectors in Canada, the UK, and Australia. Adam is a member of the Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC), and a chartered architect in the UK. Originally from Newcastle upon Tyne, Adam has lived in Canada since 2006. He studied architecture and planning at Newcastle University and undertook further studies at Kings College, London – earning a master’s in construction law and arbitration. In his adopted home of British Columbia, Adam spends his weekends discovering the mountains and ocean around Vancouver with his family and learning more about Canada, although ice hockey remains a mystery to him.
