The Medical Foundation was set up in 1986 to provide physical, practical and emotional support and care for victims of torture worldwide.

Ryder was instrumental in obtaining a lifting on the local council’s restriction of land use, and in defining the new building concept to achieve planning approval at the site in Finsbury Park.

This innovative building provides facilities for therapy, treatment and support.  Particular care has been taken to develop spaces which themselves contribute to the psychological healing process.
