Fenwick Beauty Hall Newcastle, the UK’s largest beauty hall outside of London.

Complete in 2024, we worked with Fenwick to enhance their Newcastle store with a comprehensive fit out of the beauty hall.

Works included the design and installation of bespoke ceilings, refined joinery, and detailed finishes – all tailored to elevate the customer experience.

A key design move was the removal of enclosed window beds along Northumberland Street, reopening views into the store. This not only improved visibility and natural light but also strengthened the connection between the store interior and the high street — creating a seamless, inviting experience for passing shoppers.

The heartland of our business.

Where retail meets hospitality.

The scope also included the complete interior design of the Home Fragrance department and Fred’s café on the lower ground floor. The result is a sophisticated hospitality space that complements the wider retail environment, combining functionality with elegance and enriching the in store experience.

Quiet luxury

As part of ongoing enhancements of the Newcastle store, we redesigned the new sunglasses, beauty edit and men’s accessories departments.

Sunglasses

The sunglasses department bridges the beauty hall and menswear departments – a well connected shopping pocket. The open shelved perimeter allows easy browsing of the extensive range whilst maintaining views and openness across the newly modelled atrium. The use of bronze and polished stainless steel and gold laminates, with low contrast integrated lighting highlights the precision of the frames whilst creating a luxury and comfortable customer shopping experience.

Beauty edit

The beauty edit show cases Fenwick’s carefully curated skin and haircare ranges from across the globe. The design blends a minimalist fixture with more modern, playful, and functional elements to create an immersive, but calming customer experience.  Soft lighting, pastel tones, and experiential zones for testing products allows customers to explore and learn about the products. All fixtures are fully flexible to allow for easy adaptations to suit specific needs of new emerging brands.

Men's Accessories

Men’s accessories is a fast growing, premium seasonal destination. We designed flexible fixtures with contemporary colours and materials to change with the seasons – displaying gloves, hats, scarves and beanies in the winter, and sliders, swim, and beachwear in the summer. Sleek surfaces, clean lines, and a clutter-free layout provide a simple back drop to give the products centre stage.
