Fujifilm Biotechnologies Campus

Teesside, UK - Office, Science

Built on a foundation of collaboration.

Ryder has worked with Fujifilm Biotechnologies (FBT) since 2018 to fulfil FBT’s vision in creating a pioneering bio campus in Billingham. Together, we are creating a masterplan for the whole of the campus to assist the development of FBT. The first phase of the masterplan, New Billingham House, Fujifilm’s UK headquarters, completed in 2021 and created the framework and ambition for the future phases of work. It is complemented by the delivery of BICUK laboratories, a state of the art laboratory and research building.

Driven by simplicity, elegance, and flexibility.

We designed an identifiable architectural language for the campus, meaning the neighbouring buildings echo each other. Working closely with teams across FBT, our collective passion for the campus creates a well considered, sustainable, biodiverse environment, facilitated by efficient cross team collaboration, project and budget management.

Putting people at the heart of the design process.

Our research led approach championed an intensive engagement process with building users at all levels to fully understand how they work and identify opportunities to improve productivity and wellbeing. Emerging themes were implemented into the design to ensure the upmost efficiency of the design, including layouts and process pathways.
