Designing a respectful transition between the public and private realm.

The project is centred around the beacon 39 storey tower providing commanding views over the city and privacy for residents in equal parts. Our design reinterprets the historic site plan with integrity, building a hierarchy of street blocks which respect the dense urban grain in the locality.

Great Charles Street is designed to serve its community. The commercial and retail amenities provide roof terraces, 24 hour concierge, resident sky lounge, flexible workspace and a gym and fitness studio.

Our development at Great Charles Street has been a huge exercise in collaboration with Birmingham City Council, Moda Living and Ryder Architecture and I’m confident the result will be testament to what can be achieved when the public and private sectors work in true partnership. We look forward to continuing to work with Ryder and our other stakeholders to deliver this new gem of a neighbourhood to the Jewellery Quarter.
