From family home renovations to city apartments, our approach to interior design creates spaces that not only captivate visually, but function harmoniously with the uniqueness of every client and project.
As with everything we do, our approach is focused on people.
With a thorough understanding of client’s aspirations, we bring a holistic approach integrating interiors within the wider project alongside architecture, structural and stakeholders to deliver an on brief and on schedule design.
Irrespective of the scale of our interventions our approach remains focussed on the often complex human responses to the built environment, both emotional and physical. Considering the relationships between the buildings’ spaces and exterior qualities with the mood, style and function of the interior.
Complete in 2025, this comprehensive refurbishment project involved the full renovation and extension of a Victorian three storey semi detached home in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Working closely with Musson Brown Architects and Helm as project managers, the design focussed on sensitively restoring and celebrating the buildings original features while adapting it for modern family living.
Preserving the home’s original character, historic elements including coving, architraves, internal and external doors, and fireplaces were carefully restored or recreated.
A new extension to the side and rear of the property introduces a bright kitchen and dining space alongside a snug, gym and garage. Expansive glazing floods the home with natural light, creating a seamless transition between old and new. The reconfigured layout meets the family's current and future needs, from rooms for family living to flexible guest suites. This project represents a thoughtful blend of heritage conservation and contemporary design, where timeless design meets functional living.
Set in the suburbs of Newcastle upon Tyne, Ryder interiors brought the renovation of a detached 1920’s house in line with the client’s vision to create a beautiful family home.
With an exceptional eye for design, the client was heavily involved in the project from the outset, selecting their own colour palette and furnishings. From early engagement through the sale and surveys to selecting the right team of consultants, the team worked in tandem to fulfil the client’s vision.
The project included rigorous planning and substantial structural alterations – each bringing their challenges. Reconfigurations to the kitchen and receptions rooms create a functional, impressive family space designed around the uninterrupted landscape views to the rear of the property.
The scope of works for the interiors was specific for each room, with bespoke panelling and built in bookcases designed to add character to the drawing room and dining room. Attention to detail to every corner of the home has created a real sense of everyday luxury.
