Ryder was appointed as lead design consultant to enhance the arrival experience at Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Sha Tin Clubhouse. The redesign and uplist of the main entrance floor comprises the public circulation area, lift lobby, fashion retail section, and wine shop.
Designed to precision.
Working to a six month timeline, the project began with the concept design and schematic design stages, followed by the tendering process. The construction phase, including demolition, scaffolding for high level works, joinery, furniture production, and installation, was limited to just 45 days. The clubhouse remained opened to members during this phase, posing a significant challenge for both the design team and contractors.
Despite the tight schedule, the team successfully completed the project to the club’s satisfaction, just in time for the first horse race of the summer!
