An award winning apart hotel formed from 25 recycled shipping containers that blends the design qualities of a boutique hotel with the privacy of an apartment.

The first Aparthotel for Stow Projects, “Stowaway”.  Responding to the demands of more flexible living and working patterns in Central London, the 20 room modular development provides high quality, adaptable and compact urban accommodation where city dwellers can live, work, eat and sleep.  The five storey scheme occupies 137-139 Lower Marsh and sits within the Lower Marsh Conservation Area.

The development, a partnership between Network Rail and Stow Projects, unlocks the challenging technical constraints of the site with 30ft shipping containers as the construction system, enabling the entire structure to be relocated at the end of the lease.

The container’s skin is conceived as a refined shell using self finished surfaces and optimised using high performance materials to achieve maximum internal dimensions.  The ground floor reception and café are designed to complement the eclectic, independent and collaborative community of Lower Marsh.
