Sunderland, UK - Office
On the banks of the River Wear, Tombola House is leading the redevelopment of Sunderland’s historic quayside. This landmark project has been designed to be a socially enriching place of work for future generations to come.
Encapsulating the history of the site’s tradition with touches of new, our aim was to deliver a sustainable open plan office, in a creative warehouse space. Providing a progressive, cohabiting workspace, whilst reducing carbon emissions with green building design.
A focus point of the project was to create a working environment that benefited users of the workspace. Within the building design, we integrated electric chromatic glass into the space, allowing control of sunlight, whilst generous floor to ceiling heights maximise visual connections to nature and benefit wellbeing.
Tombola House provides welcoming world class facilities for the area, shining a light on Tombola and the area in which it sits. Attracting top talent and expanding their workforce, all whilst maximising interaction and collaboration.
Our interior design team selected furniture and materials to reflect and complement the architectural spirit of the building whilst the finishes palette accentuates the views of the river and city beyond. The layout is directly planned to support Tombola’s aspirations to create opportunities for idea sharing, communication and more organic interactions, with pops of colour helping to create a stimulating working environment.
