From school to professional: building a brighter future
Founded in 1953, we are proud to mark our 70th anniversary year by celebrating the positive impact Ryder has made on the communities in which we work.
For the first time in its 26 year history, Ryder’s annual Blueprint event is taking place completely online due to the COVID19 outbreak.
Blueprint is our internal summit where we celebrate our achievements over the past year and set our goals for the year ahead. Despite the current climate, Ryder felt it was crucial for Blueprint to still go ahead – it is now more important than ever that we all stay connected and celebrate our successes in these challenging times.
The festival includes events on topics such as wellbeing, agile working, climate change, artificial intelligence, social value and research all presented in a range of online formats.
Over the next two weeks, sessions featuring a range of speakers are being broadcast across the practice, presented live from their own homes. The design competition and PechaKuchas use pre recorded content from each team, whilst a virtual pub on Friday evenings will round off each week. Winners of the Everything architecture awards – where Ryder teams vote for favourite projects and for colleagues who have demonstrated exceptional performance over the last year – and promotions were announced in a video this morning from our leaders Peter Buchan and Mark Thompson, and in our Blueprint book which is issued to everyone digitally and in hard copy.
Only two aspects of Blueprint have changed from last year. The two week exchanges, along with visits to each location by Peter and Mark, will take place once travel restrictions have been lifted.
