Formerly Novocastra European Headquarters, a world leader in the development of life saving anti body products, the micro research building is now occupied by Leica Biosystems, a world leader in the development of equipment and research to advance cancer diagnostics.

A central communication spine, incorporating the main entrance, sets up an axial relationship with the main road approach and site entrance. Constructed as an atrium this provides the main circulation route and internal meeting spaces.

Two wings are linked by the atrium spine. The laboratory wing is over two storeys and the office wing is open plan to the ground floor with cellular offices on a mezzanine floor above. The flexible design provides a sophisticated environment to sustain rapidly advancing research programmes.

Myself and my team found the experience of working with Ryder most enjoyable, they invested a great deal of time in explaining their concepts to us and I am delighted to recommend them.
