This Tall Tree Physiotherapy & Health Centre project includes tenant improvements to an existing commercial space in a mixed use building in the Commercial Drive neighbourhood, an area recognised for its eclectic and vibrant mix of commercial, light industrial, and residential uses.
The new centre was envisioned as an inclusive neighbourhood amenity, with active and engaging activities, open and visible to the Commercial Drive streetscape. The mantra of Tall Tree is People, Health, Community. This project was designed to integrally support and help deliver on this mission statement, providing numerous services including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, strength and conditioning, concussion rehabilitation, and kinesiology.
Updates to the exterior include a folded steel entry canopy and vertical heavy timber slats, providing solar protection to the south and west elevations while serving as a tactile reinforcement of the Tall Tree brand. The interior is rendered in a simple warm palette of vertical knotty pine slats, set against a backdrop of warm whites, greys and a living green feature wall.
